2015-01-04 New Companion, Still in TayTay

So, in response to what you guys have been saying, The temple is so important. We only have one couple in the group that is endowed and worthy to go to the temple. However, I have been visiting members and setting up times for them to meet with the branch president from Roxas, and all together, i am setting up about 8 temple interviews right now. A lot of these people have wanted to get a recommend, they just haven't had the opportunity yet, so I am contacting people and making them happen. Although I can't go to the temple on the island, I am really looking forward to going when I get back to the mainland. We have also been visiting members and teaching them about temples. I feel the power of temples as I teach and I know they are the houses of the Lord. And to dad, I am not sure exactly how much it costs to go to the temple. I am not sure if the church helps them out or not. I will talk to President Hiatt about that. If they don’t help them, then yes it is a huge financial burden for them.

So I got my new companion! Officially my second companion in the field, and guess who it is... Elder Cowan, my MTC companion. He is the New Zealander. You already have pictures of him from the last time we were companion haha but ill send more. So I have oficially had the least amount of companions possible in my mission. Only two so far. Anyways, he came from Manilla, so his Tagalog is not that good yet. I have been training him in the language and it is just really really hard for him. So I am basically a trainer because it sounds like his trainer didnt help him that much. But I get to teach a lot more and help him as he teaches. It can be kind of hard because I usually understand what they are saying, but sometimes, I wont fully grasp it, and I can lean on my trainer at all anymore haha. I think after six months here he will be pretty good though.

About the pictures of the pig, yes they were very disgusting, I know. And no, I haven't got any packages yet. However they should come soon, I saw that my support got deducted for mailing costs, but I dant know what mail it is. I have a question for you mom, what is the difference between baking powder and baking soda, they were in the recipes you sent me.

To Brett, Thank you for your letter and yes I hope you guys are getting blessings as I work hard out here in the mission. I love you guys!

I love you guys and miss you so much! I pray for you every day! Kita kits! (See ya later) But i dont know if i spelled it right.
