2014-12-28 Skyping for Christmas and the Group Christmas Party

Yes the language is coming along great! And When I have time I will send the pictures of the pig again. I Actually have not gone to the city yet, I might go today. I am actually in a threesome right now while waiting for my new companion, I don't know who he is yet. I will ask about the package tonight if I go! Yes, when I travel to the city, I stay there overnight. And I have a fridge.
Can you guys say who writes each part of your letters so I know who it is from?
So, It was so good to see you guys this past week! The day that we skyped was probably one of the harder days in my mission. Probably the only day that I have ever felt homesick. But I am good now. Haha, so remember when we were skyping and I told you about the dinuguan (The pig intestines and organs cooked in blood)? Well Anyways, I totally jinxed myself. The very next appointment I went to, that is what we ate. Also I got sick the day after I told you guys my health was good. I am still a little sick now, but not too bad. So Elder Sinco left yesterday, and my new companion will be here soon. I wish I was there for christmas! I havent got any presents yet, but your package should arrive soon!
This week was good. We taught brother Twante's son, and that went well! Also, I thought I was leaving yesterday, but I ended up staying, so I didn't prepare a lesson, But I ended up teaching relief society and gospel principles class... In tagalog! That was hard, but I did it haha. I have been helping members to prepare to go the the temple, and I realized how nice it is to have a temple so near you and not have to fly to a different island. So Will you commit to going to the temple at least every other week? I know if you do this you will be happier, and God will bless you! Haha I miss you guys, and now I am going to resend those pig pictures! love you guys!!!!!

Skipping with Nathan for Christmas!!!!!

These are the pictures of their Group Christmas Party that the Elders planned and put together.  They had a budget sent to them from the Branch but they over spent a bit and kicked in some money to cover it.  Nathan said it was a great time for everyone.

Here is the Pig that they bought and prepared for the Christmas party.

2014-12-14 Christmas Party for the Branch - Cooking the Pig

Sorry, My computer Died, so I don’t have much time to email you anymore! But yes I killed a pig, skinned it took out it's intestines helped clean the poop out of them and fried up and ate about every part of the pig from intestines and liver to face and feet. So we will skype on December 25 around the same time that I usually email probably. Please tell me how to set everything up and what number to call and stuff. I will send pictures and stuff next week! and Jager I understood what you wrote, Tagalog is the same as Filipino.

So I have a little bit of time after I emailed President! So I have some really good pictures next week! The missionaries carried out the whole Christmas party, It cost us quite a bit of money, but it was an experience. I can't wait to talk to you guys on Christmas! I really don't know how to use skype so inform me by next P-day! I hope all you guys will be there! I am traveling to Puerto again today and I am excited we are having a Christmas party. Brother Twante's baptism will be delayed a few weeks, but he will still get baptized for sure, love you guys!

I’ll send more next week of me killing it.

2014-12-08 Preparing for the Group Christmas Party

Brother Twante is doing good. He should be baptized a week from Saturday. We Taught him last night. He is so legit. Unfortunately his family won't be able to be baptized with him, they need to go to church, however, we are going to have him set the example for them through baptism.
Thank you for the package! I haven't got it yet, but hopefully it will be soon! I can only get packages and letters when we travel to the main city like 4 or 5 hours below us. And speaking of Christmas, yes the kids here sing the same songs, and the songs are just in english. They also have their own Tagalog ones, but most are just in English.

For our Christmas party this Saturday, we are going top buy a pig, and I volunteered to kill it. If I do I'll send you a picture. Since we are the group presidency, we plan it and carry it out and everything, which is pretty cool. We are going to make some paper mashea Pinatas for them and we plan everything from games to speakers, and we bring everything, prizes and food and stuff. And by way of like eating at members houses, we eat at members houses every once in a while, but we give them money to cook the food for us. People here are just too poor to feed us. I dont think I need anything in a package, but if I think of anything I will tell you! Luckily the Typhoon isn't going to hit us. It completely changed direction.
Anyways, the work here has been going good! I love you guys so much! Remember to always be faithful so we can live in the Celestial kingdom together! Namimiss ko kayo (I miss you!) (That is actually Taglish) Anyways, thank you for the recipes, Looks like I will be making good food on Christmas!

No pictures this week.

2014-12-01 Survived a Typhoon and Still Serving

So Brother Twante is an Investigator that should be baptized on the 20th of this month. So it sounds like you guys had a great time in Texas! I'm jealous I just watched the video of the cultural celebration at the Phoenix Arizona temple. It looked beautiful! Was it at Oçonnor? And yes I am so excited to skype you guys! I am not completely sure if I can skype, due to the lack of web cams here, but we will definitely try! Pray that we can Skype!

So this week I ate sea turtle! I thought it was tuna until the member told me what it really was. It was really good! Like tuna, but better, and it had some delicious flavoring too! I also ate chicken intestines on a stick, I might have told you that last week. I Also ate jack \fruit which is that huge fruit I will send a picture of. Their mangos here are delicious too!

Concerning the group here, note, not even big enough to be a branch haha. It is going okay. Whenever it rains the church attendance drops drastically. Filipinos are literally so afraid of rain. They think that if their head gets wet they will get sick. 20 minutes before church started we had 0 members there, and our investigator, and when it was time to start we had like 5. But by like five minutes past we had like 12 and altogether we had 14 church attendance, counting the missionaries, so it was a total of 18. Second lowest since ive been here. Its pretty cool though, I get to do some cool calling and stuff. Like I always conduct sacrament meeting, I am the one who counts the church attendance usually, and I also take the tithing, and count it. It's pretty cool to do all these things that no other missionaries do!

So this week we also had a pretty large typhoon. It ripped the roofs off of some people's homes. It gave us some great opportunities to serve! And we are all okay here, nobody was hurt. Anyways, I'm gonna send some pics, love you guys!!!!! Miss you so much! thank you for sending pictures!

This is a cool path that we went on
trees that were tipped over by the strong wind.
 Eating disgusting sea weed
 holding a jackfruit
Thats me, with Elder Wilson on exchanges, he's super cool
This is the old church meetinghouse hahah

A scorpion we found in our poop wiping bucket
